IF: Shaky

i was attempting to use the chinese character of elephant (象) with chinese ink on rice paper, to illustrate this week's IF theme.
When this seemingly formidable giant has become shaky by losing her cool and balance point, every rat in her vicinity wants to run for life for sure with the hope that her fall is not going to impact their lives. Chaos, doubts and anxieties like this would undoubtedly prevail, just like the current economc and social situation. Market downturn, retrenchment, H1N1, etc ...The more we think about them, the more depressed and unsecured we become.
Fortunately, there is One we can always turn to. With our eyes fixed on His Words & grace , He delivers us through this chaos with peace and joy retained in our hearts.

(Chinese characters are always amazing me. Hopefully i can explore more and integrate them into daily drawing routine).

Really lovely combination of bold graphic and soft edge narrative characters. Surprising, entertaining and educational! What do we learn about in Chinese script class next week :)
