After a long week of work, what do I look forward to?
Getting away from city and weekly housechores, immersing myself in absolute silence. with a good book, sunshine and occasional bird chirps...

I'm BacK!!
sketching while having breakfast..
hubby and me lying on the beach..
just touched down at 12.30am this morning.. with two luggages half filled with shopping victories, the sweet memories, and my bad flu and sore throat.
during the first four days at Krabi, we spent most of the time at the beach. sketching, playing with stranger kids and little cute kitties, catching little fishes (but failed), watching sunset, swimming, strolling, exploring low-tide areas/swamps.... i had tried to tackle with my fear of heights by attempting to jump down from a cliff point which is 5 metres above the sea level. however, when i got there with a few minor cuts, i just sat down there and cried... it was much higher than we perceived from the seaside. after a few trys, i surrendered to myself and the height phobia, quietly came down to the water and swam back...
At night, the dark blue sky was filled with stars!! it was amazingly beautiful and peaceful looking up at the starry sky while listening to the orchestra played by bugs and waves splashed onto the sand.
the weather was very hot and humid.. but what were most rewarding was the beautiful blue sky and crytal clear sea, the friendly smiles from locals, the appreciation of what God has created for us, the self contentment and the refreshed bodies...;).

Sweet moments spent at Krabi.

our little companions

this is little pillow i still have as my sleeping companion since many years ago when i left home to study in KL and later work in Spore.
It was in yellow, hand made by my mother. Hence it is filled with tender love and care from a mother to her daughter. It is soft and can be moulded by hand to different shapes and forms. and i named it as my little "precious" (bao bei in chinese). Wherever i go, i must bring it along. Just like this little girl shown in the below sketch done during my NZ trip. Hers is the little white bear.

Gala Night @ Muar

We enjoyed ourselves very much at Ken's wedding dinner.
3 hours before this special event, all the ladies had begun to doll themselves up in Mei Lan's bedroom. They had hired a make up artist to do hair styling and make up for them. I enjoyed to be in their companies. We chatted about what dress to wear, which hair style suited us, what accessories to go with our dresses, which hand bag or shawl to use......all sorts of girls' talk ;) It seemed like we were back to childhood times when we loved to play dressing up with our mums' or sisters's make up kits and clothes..;) Everyone was excited to be looking the best. And, Viola!! They were really gorgeous and beautiful that night.

How I wish we can go to Krabi again after knowing my friend is going to visit there this coming Saturday.
We had been Krabi in Dec 2005 and staying at Sunrise Tropical Resort for six days five nights. The hotel staffs were very friendly. The suite was fabulous with an outdoor shower space. I liked the quiet mornings when there were only few people strolling on the beach and some staff repainting the hotel boats. Time had seemingly slowed down and tranquillity was in the air. After having breakfast, we usually walked to Phranang Cave Beach which is 20-minutes from the resort. There is long stretch of white fine sandy beach ahead where you can easily find a strategic spot for sun tan. The beach is quite remote and quiet. No shops around there. Only one exclusive 6-star resort is located there which is heavily guarded. Our favourite place was just opposite the small rocky island (as shown in the sketch). We ever walked across the sea to that island during the low tide period. But beware, the rocky sea base can hurt your feet a great deal, as if you have gone through one session of foot reflexology. Apart from swimming or just simply immersing ourselves in the cool water, we also had MP3 player and some books accompanying us while lazing on the beach. Listening to the waves beating the shore and people watching were great too.
Food was within easy access as there were some hawkers around selling grilled corns, don nuts, curry puffs, drinks and fruits. Therefore hanging around there for entire day certainly posed no problem for most of us at such convenience. Whereas our dinners were mostly Tom Yum seafood soup with steamed rice, green curry, sweet & sour fish, spicy fried squids..yummy...what a sumptuous meal! My mouth is watering now. That wonderful holiday at Krabi was really unforgettable and enjoyable one. ;) Jeslin, can i tag along? please..... I can be your porter FOC. ;p

New Zealand
The scenery there was so facisnating that we always had our rented car pulled over at the roadside very frequently just for us to snap every breathtaking view. As a result, it took us much longer to arrive at our destinations. It was not uncommon that we were always behind our planned schedule..;p
