with black ball pen, i had sketched the portrait of Robin S.Sharma (author of 'The monk who sold his Ferrari) and Nelson Mandalay. Both are the big personalities i have been looking up as a model for their values and intergrity.
Directly using ball pen without pencil to draft first is not my usual drawing habit. It is challenging to me since no eraser is allowed to be used to do correction or modification. Though the drawings do not take even 60% resemblance from the pictures i had referred to, but i did have great sense of satisfaction after the drawings were done.

Ma Ma Mia

All of my aunties, including my mum, used to cook together in my uncle's big kitchen for festive seasons.
It was full of noise and hot steamy air, yet everyone was happy and contented.

'The Greek's Kitchen' on travelling & living channel has inspired me to draw this party planning. i have always wanted to have such a gathering - eat, play and paint on wall or floor with friends & families. At the end of the party, we would have the masterpiece completed by all of us as a memorable souvenir.

obsess with internet

Just one click away, many activities can be performed through internet which save us a lot ot time, money and troubles.
I can go thru the search engine and obtain a lot of adjectives telling me how a rose smells like, without having troubled to travel to botanical garden and smell it.
When i want some classical music, I can just download directly from website without spending single penny for concert or buying CD.
If I want some inspirations, can just take a look at other people's ideas or work posted online. copy and modify them without cracking my head. and ta da.. i can tell others this is my new idea.
I can even keep a cyber pet instead of a real one. i will not be heart broken and cry like last time, as the cyber one will not die.
How about raising cyber kid?

my house is so small that i do not dare dream of having one room to myself as a mini drawing studio, where i can lay out all my drawing tools there. saving the time and hustle of unloading/loading the tools from/into the cabinet. and utimately help me get rid of procastination.

Sleepless night with self-amusement.

one of my favourite hang out is library.. how boring i am.
most of the patrons were studying hard for their coming exams. i was one of the few who were able to enjoy the leisure reading and people watching.
(i know the proportion of this lady's shoulder is a bit out and hideous)


though watching people, my internal chatter still went on.. as to what the others are thinking or chatting at their meal.

i start a new sketchbook!

To break through the bottle neck instead of sitting there await the inspiration spark knock on my head, i had bought my new sketchbook bought from Art Friend -hardbound 212 pages, slightly bigger than A5.
Have begun to filled in the first 3 pages with the following drawings:

Imaginative drawing on a little girl who is eager to leave her ivory tower for the real world. yet her mother couldn't just let her go. Wanting to know her girl's whereabout and ensure her safety, she had cut a hole into her daughter's toy bear's paw so that the saw dust would fall on the track wherever they go. Hence, the mother would not lose her eyes on her beloved girl.


there're new members at the swan lake, Singapore Botanic Garden - huge sculpture of 5 swans ready to soar into the vast sky.
Also, there's new building near the entrance gate, which accomodates info centre, food court, library and function halls. two young ladies were engaged in changing clothes and photo taking (probably for their projects).


quick sketches of stray cat near my place in the evening. this cat must have been very hungry as he kept meowing and pestering me. After finding out i was without food, he just gave up and he spent at least 20 mins to make himself neat and presentable awaiting for the feeding lady's arrival. He is very particular about his grooming which made me feel embarassed that his hair is much neater than mine =p

It's School holiday now!

However, we working adults without kids have nothing to do with it. Definitely there will be longer queue and slower traffic at Woodlands checkpoint, and everywhere is crowded than usual for these 4 week school vacation.

Random sketch

"Retrenched"

i was sort of "retrenched" by a yoga centre.

the centre was closed down due to the rising operational cost. So all of us who still have unfinished package are transferred to another yoga centre downtown.

yesterday i was a little unhappy about the staff's oversight. She forgot to help book my first class at the new studio! the marketing rep had actually called me to confirm the booking the day before the class. I had woken up early on saturday morning just to get myself prepared for the class. Yet, i didn't want to just go back home without doing any stretch or breathing exercise. i didn't want to waste my trip. So after requesting the staff to book another class at 10.30am, i had to sit and wait there for another one and a half hour.

Then i told myself not to get too frustrated over such thing i have no control over. To keep myself entertained, i took out my little sketchbook and started to look around the surrounding. The ambience there was quite cosy with sofas and nicely placed cushions. the color combination (beige, brown and red) was nice too. What attracted me the most was the orchids displayed on the side tables. Drawing the beautiful flowers had calmed me a great deal.

After work...

Just want to do nothing and lie straight in the bed...
